International Bareboat Skipper’s Certification

Sailacat is an International Yacht Training Facility. Students who successfully complete our floating classroom course may test for the International Bareboat Skipper’s Certification.

Since our courses are approved by the IYT, no additional course requirements are needed to complete your certification. The IYT IBS exam is administered upon successful completion of the course.

IYT training and certifications are accepted in over 20 countries including the US, UK, Croatia, Dubai, France, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Lebanon, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey and the Ukraine.

Certification fee is US$175 per person and includes course notes, certification exam fee and passport logbook.

Fast Track Bareboat Sailing Course – Accelerated Bareboating Certification

Fast Track is designed for beginners and those who have had some sailing experience, but no formal training who enjoy learning at a slightly more accelerated pace. This 8 day / 7 night course offers the most comprehensive sailing course you will find. Upon completion of this course, students should have the skills, confidence and certification necessary to bareboat charter.
We believe it is best to learn by actually doing and our full participation cruises are open to all levels of aspirants with a genuine desire to learn. Class size is limited to ensure personalized attentions. Our Seaschool adventures are hosted by 2 licensed Captains with over 30 years teaching experience.

**All graduates are pre approved to bareboat charter with a 5% discount with The Moorings, Footloose and Sunsail.

Cruising Catamaran

For recreational sailors interested in sailing as a family activity, or for sailors that just prefer the feel of sailing on multihulls, cats are the growing boat of choice for many. Catamarans offer spaciousness, comfort and no heeling. The cruising catamaran course covers terminology and hardware identification specific to cats; identifying the differences between multihulls and monohulls, including systems, boat handling under power and under sail, person overboard, heavy weather sailing, anchoring and docking the boat.

Rate for the Crusing Catamaran 5 day course is US$2495 per person
